The outstanding activities of the department
1. Conducting various national and international academic research projects [national was conducted with the cooperation of the following universities: The University of Tehran, Shahid Beheshti University, Yazd University, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, etc. and nternational projects were carried out in cooperation with Australian universities.
2. Implementing national plans for diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases and strokes, and applying them in medical treatments.
3. Providing supervision and counseling for students of Medicine either for their Master's theses and Ph.D dissertations.
4. Launching different methods for cultivating and maintaining stem cells as well as the cell lines obtained from them.
5. Participating in launching a research and treatment center for endocrinology and metabolism.
6. Designing, supervising and implementing the faculty animal care center.
7. Successful launching of the field of Exercise Physiology.
The goals of the department in 2021
1- Increasing the number of workshops in order to empower professors and students - holding at least four workshops by means of electronic teaching, exams and distance learning.
2- Facilitating the admission of foreign students by providing requirements such as developing an international website for the department.
3. Persisting, yet still, on the plan to reduce the duration of graduate studies.
4- Increasing the number of guest speakers coming from outside the department in Journal Club Meetings.
5- Holding the second fellowship in the Biology of Aging.
6- Reconstructing the research laboratories of the department and improving it in quantity and quality.
7- Promoting electronic course-based trainings and online exams in the department.
8- Interacting and communicating more with other universities by means of video conferencing (webinar, Skype, etc.) in order to promote the research and educational activities of the department.
9- Preparing and constantly posting video reports of the department’s research activities on the department’s website.
10- Documenting, yet still, department activities.
11- Elevating shared educational and research activities conducted between departments, faculties and universities.
12- Preparing new integrated booklets for animal experiments and laboratory animal simulation software.
13- Accepting more MA students to be admitted in a specialized doctoral program over the last 5 years.
